Hi friends,
While the beginning of the year felt impossibly long, I’m frankly a bit stunned that we’re already here, mid-March, nearly a quarter of the way through 2024. Spring, though, is my favorite season and I’m working hard to stay present, appreciate the small things (like bees and blossoms and sunbeams), take deep breaths, and make the most of the here and now.
Here's what I've been thinking and writing about over the past few months:
In January, I held a mixed media showcase at Atelier No. 5. This was my first multi-piece display; my next will be this summer.
I took an unplanned social media break throughout most of February. Life got crazy and I felt burned out, overwhelmed, and exhausted. While I’ve since returned, I am still thinking about the importance of rest, sustainability, and consistent baby steps. Maybe it’s time to reread 4000 Weeks and Atomic Habits?
My current commonplace book continues to fill up with quotations, musings, sketches, and occasional ephemera glued in. I recently added this poem by Diego Perez/Yung Pueblo. (Do you have a favorite poet? Let me know!)
Four years ago, I relaunched my website and revived my blog, and every once in a while I remember to look back on my old posts. Here are a few art-related ones you may be interested in:
After many years, I finally dusted off my Etsy shop and added a few listings. I have more pieces to add, but this is a start. You’ll find a few original pieces on paper and, for the first time, small handmade art journals filled with my original mixed media. Take a look!
Thanks for reading and sharing this space with me. The next newsletter will go out the first day of summer but til then, you can find me at my blog or on Instagram.
Take care,
Ingrid
